SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 32
(By Senators Manchin, Claypole, Ross, Helmick, Withers,
Miller, Lucht, Yoder, Chernenko and Blatnik)
Recognizing the recipients of the 1994 West Virginia University
Foundation Scholarship Program.
Whereas, The West Virginia University Foundation Scholarship
Program recognizes the academic excellence of more than five
hundred freshmen annually, awarding a total in excess of two
million dollars to outstanding high school students; and
Whereas, Elizabeth Keadle of Buckhannon-Upshur High School,
Bradford Keller of Jefferson High School, Ryan McCarthy of Saint
Maria Goretti High School, Jason Rihel of Brooke High School and
Tracy Ting of Morgantown High School have distinguished
themselves throughout their high school careers; and
Whereas, These five outstanding students have been awarded
Foundation scholarships, the highest academic award at West
Virginia University, which will pay full tuition, room and board,
fees and textbooks throughout their career at West Virginia
University; and
Whereas, These students join an elite group of thirty-eight
West Virginia residents as recipients of this major award; and
Whereas, These students represent the highest ideals of
academic excellence, leadership and extracurricular activity at
their respective high schools; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby congratulates Elizabeth Keadle,
Bradford Keller, Ryan McCarthy, Jason Rihel and Tracy Ting for
their selection and acceptance in the West Virginia University
Foundation Scholarship Program; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to
forward a copy of this resolution to Elizabeth Keadle, Bradford
Keller, Ryan McCarthy, Jason Rihel, Tracy Ting and the president
of West Virginia University.
